Anita Bose-Pfaff is the daughter of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and his Austrian wife, Emilie Schenkl. Frau Schenkl served as his secretary when he was in Vienna in 1934 and they eventually married. Anita was born in 1942 and states that she was only four weeks old when her father saw her last as he left Germany by submarine for South-east Asia.
She is a professor of economics at the University of Augsburg in Germany and has visited India on numerous occasions. She has three children who therefore are also Bose's grandchildren. They are named Peter Arun, Thomas Krishna and Maya Carina.
