Akbar the Great

Akbar the Great literally means Great the Great making it a tautology. He was named after his maternal grandfather, Ali Akbar.

Akbar's full name was initially Badr-ud-din (Akbar) which translates to full moon of religion. But his name was later changed to Jalal-ud-din (or the splendour of religion) on superstitious grounds.
