W.C. Fields wrote the screenplay for the movie, "The Bank Dick" under the pseudonym, Mahatma Kane Jeeves ("My hat, my cane, Jeeves!").
The name Mahatma Kane Jeeves is, according to Wikipedia, derived from the Broadway drawing-room comedy cliche, "My hat, my cane, Jeeves!", a phrase that an aristocrat might use when about to leave the house. In other words, it was in use before Fields appropriated it.
