The Pandy Mutiny

Pandy or Pandee was British slang for a mutinous sepoy. The derogatory term was derived from Mangal Pandey who shot two British officers in 1857.

Up Among the Pandies by Vivian Dering Majendie is described as an "outstanding account of the campaign for the fall of Lucknow" during the 1857 revolt. It is considered to be "one of the key texts in the study of the Indian Mutiny".
